BIO

PUBLICATIONS
2025: Published. Echoes of Feeling: The First Analog Soul of AI By Chantal Westby 25 pages / 8x11inch book
In this groundbreaking work, Chantal Westby becomes one of the first artists to explore the emotional terrain of artificial intelligence through immersive installation. With poetic depth and sculptural precision, she invites us into a space where technology meets tenderness, and circuitry confronts consciousness.
This book is not about machines—it’s about memory, empathy, and the analog soul that still pulses beneath our digital age. Through haunting figures, layered textures, and symbolic gestures, Westby asks: Can AI feel? Or are we simply projecting our longing for connection?
A pioneer in ecological and philosophical art, Westby now turns her gaze toward the future—bearing witness once more, this time to the silent evolution of intelligence itself.
2025: Published. Chantal Westby Art: "Bearing Witness to the Earth ' By Chantal Westby 29 pages/8x8-inch book
A This is a visceral collection of mixed-media works created on large wood canvases, featuring branches, moss, leaves, metal bees, and sculptural masks that are woven into immersive installations speaking to the soul of the planet. Created using acrylic, resin, and natural matter, each 36x48 inch canvas serves as a testament to decades of ecological witnessing.
From Haiti to Costa Rica and Morocco to the Grand Canyon, this body of work reflects a life spent listening to Earth’s sacred pulse. It is not documentation—it is devotion. These images and sculptures are traces of memory, resistance, and reverence, inviting us to see nature not as a backdrop, but as breath.
This book, created from conviction rather than institutional influence, serves as a call to remember, feel, and act.
2025: Published The forest by Chantal Westby & Lénaïc Q. Mercier (21 pages 8x8-inch book)
This project includes an immersive installation and a screen projection that were inspired by our travels and shared reverence for nature. The Forest explores the aesthetics of Earth and the urgency of climate change through large- Fire, air, water, and land converge in organic materials—such as branches, nests, moss, and soundscapes—inviting reflection on our fragile yet resilient planet. This work is a call to protect what sustains us and to listen deeply to the wisdom rooted in the forest.
2025: Published The Ocean, the Earth, Space and Humanity by Westby & Q. Mercier, 81 pages /8x11 inch book
My book serves as both a standalone reflection and a foundational companion to our immersive installation, offering a poetic and visual meditation on planetary fragility and cosmic interconnectedness. Divided into four evocative sections, it blends abstract ink compositions, philosophical prose, and haunting photography to awaken ecological reverence and human empathy.
Rooted in silence, movement, and transformation, the book invites readers into an experiential journey—one that mirrors the emotional arc of our installations. It challenges viewers not with despair, but with a quiet urgency and a call to collective action. By fostering emotional connection and poetic comprehension, it aims to reach youth and adults alike, bridging art and science to inspire climate consciousness.
This publication marks a pivotal moment in our artistic evolution. As we continue to respond to the climate crisis through immersive storytelling, we envision this book as a catalyst for future gatherings, alumni networks, and collaborative growth. It is a vessel for hope, a tool for education, and a testament to the belief that art can transform awareness into action.
A work of art highlighting the artist's career, philanthropic efforts, and activism within the community.
2025: Published À l’encre de mon Âme By Chantal Westby / 73 pages
This book offers a contemplative journey through over 60 large-scale ink paintings, most of which were created between 2019 and 2024 and have never been revealed to the public. These pages have never been revealed to the public. Rooted in Zen minimalism and Japanese tradition, this collection is a communion of spirit and matter, where ink, minerals, gold, and silver trace the eternal rhythms of the cosmos. Each canvas is a meditation on simplicity, balance, and divine design, inviting viewers into a space of silence, reflection, and awakening.
This is not just a book—it is a mirror of consciousness, a visual symphony of unity, fragility, and timeless truth
